Hi! I'm Jenny. Thank you so much for reading my blog! I've dedicated this page to tell you a little bit about me.
I was born in Florida. I had the BEST childhood. Some of my most treasured memories are of the beach. I love love love the beach! When I die, my wish is to be cremated, and spread across the waters edge by my husband and my son. I've asked that they pour me into their pocket, and my ashes can just sprinkle out as they walk. I like the thought of that.
My favorite color is green. I love all the tuscan colors. Roman candle red, a sage/mossy color of green, and a deep mustard color of yellow.
My favorite movie is The Godfather. My favorite quote from the Godfather: Michael: (to Carlo) Only don't tell me you're innocent. Because it insults my intelligence and makes me very angry. Someday I hope to go to Italy, wait...someday I will go to Italy.
I love NYC! I've only been once, but it was fabulous! I always tell Tom that we should retire in SoHo. We'll be hippies that sit on the corner and say "groovy" and "peace man." I'm a hippie at heart I think. Either that or I'm just going through a hippie phase. Wait a minute, I just figured it out! I like hippie fashion! That's it!
I love flowers. My favorite is the gardenia. I grew up in Florida, so gardenia's were everywhere. Nothing smells like a gardenia.
I have the most amazing marriage. Seriously, it's like a story book relationship. We can finish each others sentences and there are times that he knows me better than I know myself. He takes care of me. Tom has taught me so much about commitment. The Bible say's that men are to love their wives as Christ loves the church and women are to respect their husbands. Ya know what? It works! That God, He's so smart!
I love to read! One of my favorite authors is Francine Rivers. Her book, Redeeming Love, is fabulous! I love books that are based on a true story.
I am passionate when it comes to protecting my son. Even if that means protecting him from himself. I believe with all my heart that as parents we are the first & best advocate for our kids. He is my angel boy, no matter how old he is, no matter where life takes him, no matter what! I have learned though, o v e r t i m e, that sometimes to love & protect my son requires that I let him feel the consequences of his actions. That's been a tough one for me.
I'm a Republican, and I have to say that I've been through a bit of an identity crises with my politcal party choices. I do have a few fundamental beliefs though. Starting with entitlement. I've met, and mostly worked with, so many younger people that seem to have an overdeveloped sense of self entitlement. Ugh! I can't stand that!
I love Jigsaw puzzles and port wine.
I give all the glory to God for my life. The fruits of the spirit are evident all around me. It is difficult to describe the genuine happiness I feel. It's not a happiness that comes from what I have or own or do. It's just a very simple, basic, happiness to "be". That's it. Amen!!!
